What is Teen Patti and why is it so popular?
Teen Patti is a traditional South Asian card game that has been a favourite pastime for generations in India and Bangladesh. The name says it all — "Teen Patti" means three cards. Each player receives three cards, and the player with the strongest hand wins.
From tea stalls in Dhaka to family gatherings — Teen Patti is familiar everywhere. qqer has now brought that familiar enjoyment online, so you can play anytime and anywhere.
Two main formats of Teen Patti are available at qqer: virtual table games and a live dealer version. The live dealer table features a real card dealer, and through high-definition streaming you can play in real time — just as if you were sitting at an actual table.
Teen Patti Hand Rankings — How strong is each hand?
In Teen Patti there is a fixed order from the strongest hand to the weakest hand for winning. Knowing these rankings will make it easier for you to make decisions.
Trio (Three of a Kind)
Three cards of the same value. This is the highest hand. Three aces is the best Trio.
Pure Sequence (Run)
Three consecutive cards of the same suit. This is the second highest and one of the rarest hands.
Sequence (Straight)
Three consecutive cards of different suits. Lower than a Pure Sequence but still a strong hand.
Color (Flush)
Three cards of the same suit that are not consecutive. Comparison is made by the highest card in the hand.
Pair (Two of a Kind)
Two cards of the same value. When pairs are equal, the value of the third card determines the winner.
High Card
None of the combinations above. Comparison is made by the highest card. The most common hand.
Teen Patti Rules and Core Strategy
When the game starts, everyone places a fixed amount into the boot. The dealer then deals three cards to each player. You can either Chaal or Pack. Chaal means you want to continue playing and must place double the previous bet. Pack means you are folding this round.
Seen vs Blind: The interesting thing about Teen Patti is that you can choose to play without looking at your cards ("Blind"), in which case the bet amount is halved. "Seen" means playing after looking at your cards.
Sideshow: Two players can choose to compare each other's cards (Sideshow). The player with the weaker hand must Pack.
Show: The last two remaining players reveal their cards, and the stronger hand wins the entire pot.
Before playing the game at qqer, you have the opportunity to practise in free demo mode so you can sit down to the real game with confidence.
